Municipality

In the Netherlands you have to deal with many authorities, including the municipality. Since 2015, municipalities have been responsible for youth welfare (jeugdzorg), work and income, and care for the long-term sick and elderly. The municipalities have taken over some of these tasks from the central government (Rijksoverheid). This is also known as decentralisation.
