The purpose of the Workers’ Protection Act (Wet aanpak schijnconstructies) is to better protect workers from underpayment of salaries, to prevent constructions aimed at avoiding minimum wage regulations, collective agreements (CAO-afspraken) and to protect employees from unfair competition. As most of you can tell from their own experience, there are still many dishonest employment agencies and companies. The law was created to put an end to the unfair treatment and payment of temporary workers. Unfortunately, there are too little controls.
